Global Premier Soccer UK and Bracknell Town FC were pleased to host GPS UK International Technical Partner Valencia CF over the course of the past week. Valencia CF International Coach Toni Navarro visited both GPS UK clubs as well as at GPS International Academy site, Bracknell Town FC before moving on to Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The purpose of the visit was to grow the existing relationship between GPS in the UK and Valencia CF. Toni lead coach education workshops with the GPS coaches before continuing the education aspect of the trip by coaching various teams as a way to display the Valencia CF methodology for those coaches and players in attendance.

He also spent time at the latest GPS site, GPS Fleet. GPS Fleet is a Football Education program aimed at 16-19 year olds who are hoping to pursue a career in the Football industry. Andy Hunt, GPS Fleet Technical Director and GPS UK VCF coordinator, had the following to say, “Having recently transferred the Fleet site over to GPS UK, it was fantastic to have our technical partner Valencia CF join us for an insight to their methodology. Toni delivered a great presentation in our classroom to explain how Valencia work and then the players were able to see this for themselves when we went out and trained. We are now really looking forward to planning our first trip over to Valencia in November 2019 to gain more knowledge and give the players another excellent opportunity.”

Toni and GPS UK staff spent time planning the further development of this partnership over the coming years by looking at professional development of players, coaches and teams under the influence of Valencia CF. Additionally, the implementation of GPS UK/VCF National Team camps, Talent ID camps and tours and tournaments all linked to Valencia CF.

To conclude the visit, Toni travelled to Belfast, Northern Ireland where he ran a Valencia CF Professional Development Day in conjunction with GPS UK and the Irish FA. Having recently competed at and won the StatSports Super Cup NI Premier Section, Valencia CF have introduced themselves to the Northern Irish football community and this Professional Development Day was another step in growing the GPS UK and Valencia CF footprint in the UK and beyond. This presentation was hosted at the superb facilities at Queens University Malone and focused on focusing on the IFA Games Development Program age groups U6-U10 and the next stage of development U11-U15. This professional development day was open to all coaches from all IFA Belfast Games Development Program clubs and was viewed as a successful first engagement by GPS U.K and the Spanish giants in Northern Ireland, with opportunities for further engagement already in planning to benefit players, coaches and clubs alike.
